To search for magazine articles about the Winter Olympics, try MAS-Ultra High School Edition. Provided for free to Indiana residents through the Indiana State Library, this database is designed specifically for high school students, and contains full text articles in almost 500 magazines. It also indexes reference books, biographies, primary source documents, and has an image collection.
A search of "olympic winter games and security" brought back 119 hits. If you choose "Advanced Search", enter your search terms at the top, select the following limiters in order to reduce the number of hits: select full text articles only and under "Lexile Reading Level", select 850-1050, the reading level of sixth through eighth graders. This produces a very manageable total of nine articles. You can also limit the publication date by year if needed. If you hover your curser over the paper and magnifying glass along the right of each entry, you can see a short summary of the article, and you can also create a folder to put articles in so you can refer back to them. Be sure to check the subject headings of the articles you like, then search again with those headings to get similar articles.
